The French Quarter, also known as Vieux Carré - or the “Quarter” to locals, sits on a crescent in the Mississippi River on some of the highest ground in New Orleans. Not only is this is city’s cultural hub, but is a community where residents take time to reminisce with neighbors about times gone by and to welcome visitors in the streets.

Immediately west of the French Quarter is the Central Business District, originally plotted in the 18th century it is the second oldest district in New Orleans representing the first expansion from the original French Quarter District. It has since developed into the corporate core of the city and is the location of the headquarters of many businesses. You will also find as you go towards the Mississippi River, the Warehouse District, where much of the city gets her goods.

Immediately downriver of the French Quarter, Faubourg Marigny was once the plantation of a Creole born vivant who made the dice game “craps” popular in America and who dazzled New Orleans by his flair and enormous inheritance. After subdividing the property in 1806, it developed gradually with a distinctly European flair and a cosmopolitan mix.

Algiers is a short ferry ride from the foot of Canal Street in busy downtown New Orleans to Algiers Point, but the transition is dramatic. Algiers point is New Orleans’ Brooklyn without the bustle- the place with great views of the city skyline and the Mississippi River. It is a charming and primarily residential neighborhood.

The Garden District is a dynamic community grounded in a strong sense of tradition. Some of its homes are still known by the names of the families that built them over a century ago, and official flags designating Mardi Gras Royalty are a common sight here during Carnival season.

Alternate Universe

History is written and can well be altered by the victors, but what of the ability to travel through time and right what may, perhaps, be wrong? What of regret and fair memory? What say you, is the cost of what is now known to change what once was reality? Nothing is free and one must tread carefully with thorough thought into what is oft little more than the beginning of a complex journey's beginning. This, some races know just as well as the reincarnated.

The clever and connected, the skilled and the powerful as well as certain races among our society know well these modern realms of altered dimensions including but not limited to dystopia, Victorian-era, Viking Age, Ancient Egyptian, or medieval parallel planes of altered universe.

The years have changed, and not just for humans, yet many still like to collect their thoughts down in a tangible way. Whether it be private pen and paper or a public blog for all to read, any character may do as they wish with this section. Please note if it is for private or public IC consumption so nothing is used IC that isn't supposed to be.
